If possible to also get one near the crossing from Birchcliff Parkway to Sears Lane, that would be amazing--you can wait for ten minutes during busy times.

Agreed. As Pine St. is the de facto highway out of downtown Burlington, with big rigs barreling down the road past little kids going to and from Champlain Elementary, it is a massive safety and quality of life issue.

This location does not currently meet the warrant analysis for additional crosswalk enhancements. The crosswalk adjacent to Champlain Elementary has a dedicated crossing guard for students and families during the school day. During non-school hours the pedestrian demand is too low to justify additional crosswalk enhancements.

Ultimately the DPW Commission makes the final decision on any traffic regulation changes. You can discuss this issue with the DPW Commission at their next meeting on Wednesday, January 15th, 2020 at 6:30 pm. This meeting will be in our Front Conference Room, our office is at 645 Pine Street.
