Do we ever run the plates of these cars to establish where the owners live? If they don't live near that location, do we try to contact them to ask if they are either (a) a commuter, or (b) getting their vehicles repaired at that service station?

Please close this issue, per Director Hogan's response to the 99 Dartmouth St complaint the parking department actually has a selective enforcement program that when bussiness or homeowners are having busy season they are allowed to park illegally. Obviously this person is just very busy this time of year.

"Busy time of year" isn't valid if a business should not be parking business-related vehicles on the street. That's a stipulation of their Class I / II / or III license, that all customer and employee vehicles are parked on their lot, not on the surrounding streets.

Mr. Camell please explain how these businesses are any different than the post office which has a large back parking lot with a loading dock but according to mr. Hogan's response to the 99 Dartmouth Street complaint the post office employees are given consideration to illegally Park and load on the street. So my point exactly is the city has a selective enforcement policy some residents and businesses have to follow the laws and others do not

All repairs shall be made within an approved automotive bay. Except when actually being repaired, all vehicles shall be stored in approved parking on-site parking spaces, as described in Section 6.12 A 3. above. Employee parking and parking of vehicles owned or operated by the repair shop shall be exclusively in approved on-site parking spaces.

Mr. Camell all you are doing is posting the law that the city has in place, and a resident asked it to be enforced. A similar complaint was made about illegal parking by the post office the lack of enforcement was justified because this is a busy season for them so my question is why is his business not entitled to the same selective enforcement that the post office employees are. Mr Councilor , please give the explanation to Garcia Motors on Hunting Street. I have been fighting with them about parking their cars all over this neighborhood. What’s good for one is good for all !!
