A. Once again the Landlord or tenant has hired a plow truck PAN 6TN919 to push all the snow into the sidewalk. Earlier this winter Martinez construction was hired to do the same thing. This is the 2nd winter this has occurred yet not once has the sidewalk been cleared in front of 112 Chester St. Chester St. which has heavy traffic caused by the Kid Stop and Cleghorn pluming business’s. Children going to school and citizens without cars that must rely on public transportation and shopping must walk on the heavily traveled road all winter long. The Mayor, City council, DPW and Police dept. are all been made aware of this problem yet for 2 years not even once has anything been done to solve the problem. Why do small business owners violate the sidewalk ordinance? It is because they know the city does not have the resources to enforce the law so they do what is best for their profitability. The evidence is clear that not any level of Fitchburg city government has been able to solve a public safety issue and therefore is a lawless city. Sincerely, A saddened but concerned citizen
