I agree. I drive over these tracks daily on both Cesar Chavez and the alley to the north. They are horrendous and getting worse every day.

NOTHING has happened with regards to the condition of the RR crossing. I, and the rest of the Old Town community, would greatly appreciate any actions that can be taken by the city on this issue to enforce the track owners responsibility to maintain this for the safety of the community.

I agree with the comment above. Unfortunately, with the construction on Cesar Chavez at the intersection of Turner, these are becoming even more of an issue. Although the alley is less traveled, the holes there continue to be an issue, even after we try to fill them with bricks and other items.

This continues to be a worsening safety hazard to the heavy traffic that travels on Cesar Chavez (Grand River) and visitors to the Old Town District. Can you please offer an update on this situation and what options need to be pursued if the city is not able to?

Agreed. Please help us out with this one. This continues to be an issue and people regularly swerve to try to find a spot that has a bit of a smaller bump when driving over it, which is dangerous to pedestrians and other drivers.

I live and own a business in Old Town. The abandoned rail tracks are still presenting a serious safety issue. I haven't heard any feedback on this forum regarding what can be done about this. Please help us out.

The last comment from the City was back in March, 7 months ago. I have been leaving regular comments. Is anyone reading this, if so, can you add SOME KIND of comment. The tracks are getting worse each month and now we are approaching Winter!

This is a major issue. Having been reported in March and still no feedback is simply unacceptable. Residents and Businesses can’t fix these, we need help to get this done. The road around the tracks continues to get worse. I fear with winter/plow season coming they will really take a much harder toll. What can we do to help get a solution in place??

This needs some attention. I drive over it daily and it worsens with each season. With winter coming soon, I would hope we can see some action taken before it freezes.

There isn't a day that goes by I don't think there has been an accident at that crossing. Trucks hit those holes and I think they will come right through our window.

The Lansing - Jackson Railway owns the tracks. Another frustrating Summer zips past with NO ACTION on this. How bad does it have to get??

I have a retail business with 100 feet of these tracks. Every time a truck crosses those tracks, everything in our place shakes. This issue was first reported 19 months ago and here we are with nothing being done.

The tracks have recently been reactivated for use by Friedland Industries. Hopefully this will help the railroad justify maintaining the multiple crossings they are responsible for!

What can we do to help make something happen? The railroad is again using these tracks, but on a very limited basis. I can hear trucks go over the tracks from nearly a block away. What do we need to do to get this major thoroughfare fixed?

This continues to be an issue. With the snow and slippery roads, this is even more of a hazard. There are now trains using this crossing again. Please address this issue.
