The requestor is correct as there are inadequate or no cross walks, traffic lines. Traffic regularly run right into pedestrians and don’t adhere to stopping or the no turn on red. Construction has damaged the road so cars swerve. Trucks regularly block the sidewalk. Multiple times a week I nearly get hit by cars. A delayed green light, , left turn green arrow to turn to Grove, and no right turns ever would make this intersection better

Not the mention the police officer that stands at that intersection daily and watches all of this happen.

Something also needs to be done about cars not following the “left turn only” lane on Grand which is to turn on to Grove. People speed up the left turn lane VERY fast to cut off the line of cars going straight then drive straight through the light. Then the cars in the lane have to swerve to the right (where pedestrians are standing) to avoid being side swiped by the cars that decide to drive straight, because the lanes are smaller now due to the construction.

I pass through there every morning and the people trying to cross the street can barely get across. Between the construction barricades and smaller lanes and no one following traffic rules. It’s a mess.

The conceptual improvements plan for Grand Street will be finalized by May 2018. I drive that area often and agree with the other commenters that the intersection is very dangerous. It has been made dangerous by the destruction of the road by the construction and the narrowing of the car lanes ( also caused by the construction).Someone is going to get hurt. It will be a very long time before the "conceptual" plan you reference is implemented in the Grove Street area. Additionally that conceptual plan has nothing to do with protecting the public during construction.Please address the issues and don't wait for someone to get hurt.

We will investigate potential short term improvements to be implemented at this location.

Just want to add that almost every time I go through this intersection, and Marin Blvd, someone goes straight from the left turn only Lane which is super problematic since the right lane has been closed down because of the construction. I can't believe there haven't been crazy accidents here.

Thank you Devi! I wrote about this a while ago- and the response was to close the ticket because "conceptual" improvements were to be finalized by May 2018. But what will that do to help in the short term?

Cars go straight and totally ignore the "LEFT TURN ONLY" lane and almost side swipe the cars going straight which then causes them to swerve towards pedestrians that have nowhere to stand due to construction.

This area is bad still and should be fixed until a permanent solution is put into place.
