psst....the north end is still here..it would be nice if it was taken care of like the rest of the city..it seems to me that the only area that is patrolled or cleaned is the one block radius around testos. sure..I've seen some tree trimming on main street..on a Sunday at God knows what rate of overtime.
multiple reports are open about issues in this area and they're not being addressed. I couldn't even sell my house and move because of the conditions of houses around me.
right now the north end appears to be forgotten..if the mayor is elected governor will he forget about bridgeport entirely?

At the meeting, one of the things we were told was that the police department would have the radar detector on Wayne Street in order to record traffic speed because of issues with speeding. It's never been put there.
Houses all over the place are in terrible shape. One on Peet Street near Glendale has been reported multiple times, the side of the house is actually falling off, trees are falling down, weeds growing out of the drainpipes.
House on the corner of Glendale and Primrose is lovely, however the trees on the side of the property completely block view of oncoming traffic from Primrose onto Glendale.
House on the corner of Madison and Queen is in forclosure. The back door is frequently open, the front door is frequently open, there is a large hornets nest in the side window. Windows to the house are open.
Little League season is starting which means the fields will be open and will be attracting people other than kids and parents to the area. There have been people killed there, yet patrols don't seem any more frequent. We were promised more police presence and we haven't seen it.
Dead end at Peet and Queen. House is a disaster. Parties almost every weekend with bottles and garbage all over the place and drunk drivers flying up and down the road. Fence has fallen down, furniture in the front and back yard. It won't be long before rats move in with comfy sleeping areas and the garbage that they just stack up against the wall. That corner is also a school bus stop, so god knows what kids are being exposed to every day.
Glendale between Peet and Main street is pretty much just pot holes with a little asphalt holding it together.

Yes and as far as Wayne St goes, I don't have a driveway and I live in the S curve. I hear tires squealing all the time when people fly around either part of the curve. I'm tired of my car getting hit. I recently got a new car and I park on one of the side streets instead of outside my front door and it's inconvenient especially when the weather is bad or I have groceries. Despite the fact that several vehicles have been totaled at this part of Wayne St by hitting cars, trees or a ending up underneath a porch nothing has been done to curb the speed on this street!
The intersection of Madison Ave & Westfield finds people not even stopping at those stop signs. Same with Savoy and Wayne! That intersection is good for people doing that as well.
I've been hearing a lot of police cars flying through the neighborhood lately too. It comes in waves but I'm always concerned about all of the kids in the area whether it's Wayne St, Blackham or Madison Schools who are walking home from school or playing out front who may get hit by a careless driver.
Lindley St is also narrow, especially in areas where people are parked on both sides and with the school being over there I'm also seeing people drive very fast and/or going through the stop signs there as well.
With the amount of distracted and careless drivers out there it's always a concern.
As far as houses looking bad, banks and landlords need to be accountable for property management. A lot of banks don't care and where landlords are renting to irresponsible SHU kids as long as they have their $ on time they don't seem to care either. Start slapping blight liens on these houses as the complaints are received. I know there are a limited amount of people who have to make their rounds in the city but stuff like this needs to be addressed much faster than they are now. It's effecting our property values and as a Realtor it also effects whether my colleagues and I are able to sell a house next door because buyers don't just evaluate the house but they evaluate the house's surroundings.
