Description

Homeless encampments at Lake Merritt are growing each week. Housing is a major issue, but our park at the lake should not become a campground. Some of the encampments are growing near the Science Center where there are groups of children. These encampments are not healthy for the residents or the people who must come near them. Please find other options for these folks, though I recognize it is not easy.
