Hello. I am a lifelong resident of Jersey City and I’ve never had to complain about anything but I am at a point where I can’t take it anymore. The Hutton (Hutton and Sanford) opened last year and what was previously a local bar has turned into a restaurant. Their exhaust system constantly blows food smell into my apartment (2 floor). One would think wow smelling food all the time would be amazing, but it gets gross. Yesterday I came home from work and my house smelt like it was on fire because of a smell coming from the restaurant. It’s messing with my quality of life.
I also have an issue with them attempting to block parking spots. I have attached pictures of an incident in April. Parking is already limited in my neighborhood. I’m a nurse who works 12 hour shifts so I get home late and cannot get a spot, I get at least two tickets a month. Having them block spots like this is simply unfair to the neighborhood. They are doing construction (haven’t seen any permits posted by the way) and the construction vehicles take up almost every spot on that block (Hutton between Kennedy and Sanford) almost everyday. And the construction goes on well past 5. The other night the commercial vehicles were still taking up spots at 9pm. Please look into this. I believe there should be some kind of law that prohibits the exhaust system like this in a residential area. (I have more pictures but it will only let me upload one)
