Assigned to wrong department looks like Alewife Reservation which would be the DCR I manage Fresh Pond reservation Managed by the Cambridge Water department
The map shows a location between two small ponds, one next to the Minuteman Bike Path and the other owned by Grace(?). The water impoundment "pond" behind the Alewife T, too is littered. Though other organizations are responsible, isn't this in Cambridge? Aren't we interested in attractive walking connections to the AlewifeT?
Who in the Cambridge government is responsible for relations with the public and private organizations who present litter or who present a hazardous site?
FYI, I moved the map marker slightly to accurately point to the 'pond' I was referring to. It isn't shown as a pond on the map view, but you can see it in the satellite view.
I agree with Arthurstrang in that there is a lot of litter all around Alewife, and the walkways around this area seem dangerous - disrepair, overgrown vegetation, etc. What can we do to help improve this situation, as residents?
Thank you for reporting this issue to the City of Cambridge. Unfortunately, the City is not responsible for addressing issues on state property, but we've shared this report with the Massachusetts Dept. of Conservation & Recreation (DCR) and asked them to address. Please contact DCR Community Relations at 617-626-4973 for direct follow-up about this.
