Agreed. This house is being used for something illegal. You can see into the first floor; there are mattresses on the floor and trash is everywhere. This house should definitely be boarded up.

The sidewalks are broken up and a mess. The fence into the backyard is opened and barely on its hinges with garbage strewn about.

Demo has begun on the interior!

I just bought a house close to here, and noticed this for the first time yesterday and became very concerned... It didn't look like any work had begun on the interior, there were still what appeared to be squatters inside/hanging around the door who called out some not fantastic things to me as I was walking by... Can the police be called about this??

@AMO, they are currently clearing the interior. There is an L&I Permit posted on the door (St. Albans St. side) indicating that the a third-floor would be added to the existing structure. It appears that they've made good progress in the past few days. Hopefully they will move right into the planned modifications and rehab after demo.

Thank you so much! I was worried I was going to have to try and get out of my contract (closing around the corner in a week!) They were definitely NOT construction workers in there yesterday....

@AMO, welcome to the neighborhood! Yeah that house has been a huge nuisance for a while now. Before they old owners sold, they rented to a bunch of drug dealers. As shady as the demo crew look, I'm pretty sure that's all they're doing in there.
