You should do more than just investigate! You should act fast as Park St is being re paved NOW. This issues with the gutter drain being ABOVE THE SIDEWALK is a shame, specially since I told the town 3 years ago there was a problem and I was told IT WAS FIXED. That is really the shame of this! How many times do we have to tell the city there is a problem before it is fixed?

Burlington Stormwater Staff performed a site visit at the intersection of Poplar St. and Park St. investigating the drainage infrastructure in question. The catch basins are properly installed and the sub-surface piping network appear free of blockages. Staff did note that the basin located on the Northern side of Poplar had accumulated surface debris – a likely contributing factor to the occasional ponding at this location. While our crews conduct regular cleanings, with over 3,000 storm drains, we may not be able to respond to basins which accumulated debris during a rain event.
We do partner with residents to keep catch basins clear of debris through the Adopt-A-Drain program (link below).

Currently, all three drains at the Poplar/Park intersection are available for adoption!
You can continue to use See Click Fix to make a specific maintenance request for clogged catch basins, but this program is not capable of respond as quickly as a local Adopt-A-Drain “Drain Defender.”
