Indeed. Apparently this was a one-off event, but I’ve considered lobbing bricks into their windshields.

It created incredibly dangerous trsffic conditions this evening, including a motorcycle accident. I have video but can't post it here.

Whoever granted a city permit for this "event" did not do their homework. This was extremely unsafe in our residential neighborhood, pedestrians were frightened to cross our street. Police were there for a bit, but when they left, the drivers let loose in the street: speeding, screeching on brakes, amping up their muffler noises, intimidating bicyclists and yelling at residents. The crowd assembled in the 208 Flynn Ave parking lot were name-calling to those passers by who were clearly offended and fearful. Police said they wouldn't help when called again.

Please post a copy of the permit that was issued for this event. This person should be fired first thing Monday morning no questions asked. What is our city government coming to? VERY VERY dangerous and very noisy event to have in a residential neighborhood.

To be clear, BPD did come to the event several times and finally a Lt. came with backup and shut the event down. Thank you BPD! I contacted the owner of 208 Flynn to complain and question his decision to allow this type of event in a residential neighborhood. He responded that "its just boys have fun with their cars" and further "The business (Bag Riders) is a great company, they have a permit, they have liability insurance, this is a mixed use industrial zone and this inaugural event is great for the South End".

He then went further and included a gif (short movie) of a black woman sucking on a lollipop suggestively. I'm sorry to post that but it was completely inappropriate in every way.

The FB post for the event said " Food will be available through the Burger Barn, and drinks will be available through our friends at Stowe Cider (must be 21 or older to drink). There is NO ATM on site. Please don't drink and drive." There was no security, and this morning I noticed signs at the entrance to the complex say "no burnouts past this point". Clearly, based on videos on last years event, they fully expected and condoned burnouts on the street in front of the event.

I feel that Dave Farrington, Farrington Construction and Bag Riders should be heavily fined, charged for the police presence, and never be allowed to have an event in this city again.

My post was blocked on this site. I simply added info that the owner of the building told me it was just boys having fun and that it was a great event for the South End. His name is Dave Farrington. I agree that this was a horrible event in our neighborhood.

The organizers clearly expected this kind of behavior, however they did not notify area residents of the event. They posted this sign in the parking lot where they were holding the event but did nothing to stop attendees from "burning out," speeding, backfiring, and revving their engines loudly on Flynn Avenue and surrounding streets. Thanks to BPD for responding to neighborhood concerns about the event, but after police left, the people leaving the event ramped up all these behaviors and intimidated residents.

It was completely inappropriate and dangerous to have this event in a family/residential neighborhood. Cars were speeding and burning out near LOTS of little kids. Please take action and take your event somewhere else before a child is hit or dies. Seriously.

FYI: there's a daycare facility in the same building.
