Description
These two streets are increasingly major thoroughfares and are becoming quite dangerous for children crossing them to get to North Point Elementary. Members of the community would like the addition of a walking bridge to be considered.

I have to agree with everyone's comments before me, this intersection is starting to become a nuisance/problem. Now that school is currently in session, I myself have seen the problems first hand. Not only are people speeding through these areas during school zone hours, alot of them do not have much disregards as for anyone else who is driving as well. I know that any ideas we put out will cost money and/or extra efforts from law enforcement but I really do think that something needs to be done... If not for the safety of the drivers on the road, than at lease think of the children. I am one for the idea of putting a skywalk, or even a speed reader that takes photographs of speeding offenders but something MUST be done. Before someone is injured or fatalities happen.
Thank you.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the safety at the intersection of 2100 North and 2300 West. We understand the concern and are working to address it. As a start, we installed a crossing guard key switch at this intersection on Sept. 5, 2018. This switch, when activated by the crossing guard, increases the amount of time for pedestrians to safely use the crosswalks.
Additionally, we initiated a meeting with Lehi City, Alpine School District and North Point Elementary to talk about pedestrian safety at this intersection. The meeting was held in mid-September and a range of potential solutions were discussed. The group is scheduled to meet again in mid-October after determining what can be implemented in this area to improve pedestrian safety.
Information will be shared with residents as we learn more and determine a course of action after that October meeting.
