Traveling west, uphill on Blithewood Avenue, Worcester, there is no speed limit sign approaching entrance and exit to/from Oakwood Lane. It is a blind curve. The only sign approaching Oakwood Lane is “Blind Driveway”. It is very dangerous to pull out of, or pull into Oakwood Lane due to that dangerous curve. Before new sidewalks were constructed it is my understanding there was a mirror installed across the street to assist residents of Oakwood Lane pulling out onto Blithewood Avenue. There is a 20 mph sign traveling east,only, on Blithewood, just beyond entrance to Oakwood. Vehicles speed uphill and down Blithewood Avenue which is potentially very dangerous for Oakwood Lane traffic.

Very difficult to get out of Oakwood Lane especially at peak commuter time. Really a spot waiting for seriou accident .Needs to be addressed with slo down and lo speed signs. Thank you writer for your concerns.

This is still a very serious issue. It has not been resolved. Last week, a City Bus careened around the dangerous curve at a high speed as I was at the Oakwood Lane and Blithewood Avenue intersection at 11:00 am. If I hadn’t rolled down the driver window to carefully listen, I would have been killed attempting to turn left on Blithewood Avenue from Oakwood Lane! Please, City of Worcester, help us!

This issue has not been resolved. The intersection of Oakwood Lane and Blithewood Avenue continues to be extremely dangerous. A Blind Driveway sign does not slow vehicles to keep residents safe; pedestrians nor vehicles attempting to exit or enter Oakwood Lane.

City of Worcester- Traffic Engineering was assigned this to review and given ticket #1749034..... does no one follow up on these things?

Also, the STOP sign on Oakwood is now falling down.

This has been an open topic since September 2018.

This issue has not been resolved. Still very dangerous intersection entering/leaving Oakwood Lane onto Blithewood Avenue. Vehicles are traveling on Blithewood Avenue at an unsafe speed around the blind curve at Oakwood.

This issue has still remained unresolved. The only speed limit sign near the intersection of Oakwood Lane and Blithewood Avenue is east of Oakwood Lane, on Blithewood Avenue, heading downhill towards Grafton Street. The sign states a 20 mph speed limit. There is no speed limit sign as you travel west on Blithewood at this dangerous curve, as you approach Oakwood Lane. It is extremely dangerous for anyone on Oakwood Lane taking a left hand turn onto Blithewood. There is only a Blind Driveway sign, which does not specify speed limit. Vehicles travel too fast up that hill!

Unfortunately, this dangerous issue has NOT been resolved. Do we have to wait for someone to be killed to get a speed limit sign posted on Blithewood? A BLIND DRIVEWAY sign does not slow vehicle traffic down!

As a long time Rolling Oaks resident, I have been dealing with this issue for years. What I have learned is that upon exiting Oakwood Lane, you MUST look to the left LAST before attempting to enter Blithewood Avenue. If you look left FIRST, & then right LAST, & then attempt to enter Blithewood, you have exactly three seconds OR LESS before being hit by a speeding vehicle coming around the corner.
Very dangerous & very upsetting.

Following up here on the missing mirror to help residents safely exit oakwood lane. While the speed limit sign may deter law abiding citizens from speeding around the corner, it doesn't help rolling oaks residents drive defensively when attempting to exit the side street. We need our mirror back, please.
