Hamden is already strapped enough for cash to have to handle the additional maintenance of streets. Pine Rock and lower Woodin are already speed-ways. If you open upper Woodin; you're just expanding the speed way. Also-- keep in mind that the housing will be (no matter what is "promised") low income. That means cars which aren't cared for and need mufflers/exhaust systems (but, for some reason, seem to have the best sub-woofers money can buy) will be driving down residential streets at all hours of the day and night. The Mayor has indicated he wants to keep it closed, let's hope he stays with that thought.

Dont know where you got the Mayors opinion from. It must have been a fleetting thought. He seems to be on board with everything New Haven has going on.

Memory says the Mayor favors removing the fence, but "not right now" or some similar statement to make both sides happy which of course makes both sides irritated.

I heard just today (Aug. 30.2013) that they still want to take the fence down! It's being kept quiet because they don't want it to be let known to those in the Woodin St. area. There supposedly is going to be another meeting about it in September! Someone in the area has got to pass out the flyers again & prevent this from happening!

There is a meeting on Friday, September 11th at the Keefe community center at 6:30pm. Please come and tell Jackson to keep the fence up and save our town.

Arron Anderson, I believe you may have the wrong date. I also think someone should pass out flyers to get the word out again because this seems to be on the hush for some reason.

September 11th is on a Wednesday. I heard that this meeting was on Friday, September 13th. I'm getting conflicting dates about this issue. If anyone really knows, let the neighborhood know.

A meeting will be held at the Keefe Community center of Friday September 13 @ 6:30. Please come and help stop Mayor Jackson from taking the fence down and connecting Woodin Street to the massive housing projects that are being constructed!!!!!!
