October 18, 2018 - The mailings of these violation letters (sent certified) were returned to Zoning - today - October 18, 2018; these were returned to Zoning Office by USPS via Bridgeport Mailroom - reason noted on stamp: "RETURN TO SENDER-UNCLAIMED- UNABLE TO FORWARD;
WITHOUT "PROPER NOTICE" - THIS COMPLAINT/VIOLATION CANNOT BE SENT TO THE STATE PROSECUTOR
Thank you for continuing to update us on this issue. Is there a protocol for when you cannot reach the owner of a building? Is the property just allowed to sit and rot or is it able to be taken over by the city after a period of time?
CLOSED - ZONING UPDATE 269 LAUREL AVENUE - ZONING CONTACT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL WITH SENDING OUT VIOLATION NOTICE - ORDER TO COMPLY/CEASE AND DESIST - Certified Mailing returned to Zoning on October 18, 2018. This address and complaint - re; unregistered/inoperable mv/parking on lawn - will be entered into complaint system for ANTI-BLIGHT DEPARTMENT. Note : Anti-Blight has the ability through Ordinance and State Statute to "Fine" the property owner.
