Downtown is overrun by safety issues, and it is disturbingly disappointing to observe the disgusting behavior that defines our community, our society. Chronic reports and complaints of mischief, vandalism, and substance misuse. Needles, garbage, clothing,etc. left behind in areas where children frequent (daycares, library, family visitation programs, etc). It is certain this has spilled into residential areas immediately adjacent as well. Repeated requests for increased patrol and supervision have failed How can we protect these young people from being exposed the risks associated? Drive there after dark & you have to contend with the hookers, which in itself has it's own implications. Vandalism, mischief, and similar crimes are rampant in the area. Everyone deserves to feel and be safe when they go to work, the library, school, shopping, or attending businesses in the area. This city, this community needs to do better! We are failing every generation.
