Why is Malden the only city where commenting is disabled? Is there a reason?
The ticket requester is able to comment on the ticket. Commenting is not available to other users who are not directly involved in the request.
SeeClickFix is a platform that the City uses to respond to issues such as potholes, problem properties, graffiti, parking issues and many more. Our main goal with SeeClickFix is to quickly evaluate, respond to and hopefully resolve the issues that are reported. Repeatedly reopening tickets and commenting on others that have already been addressed requires our staff to take the time to log back into SeeClickFix to read comments rather than be available to fix, repair, evaluate etc. While this is entirely your right as a resident of Malden to express your concerns at length, SeeClickFix is not the most efficient way to do so.
If you are looking to have an open discussion, perhaps you were unaware of the many ways in which we encourage public discourse. 1. We have a Facebook page with open commenting that we respond to regularly. 2. We have a Twitter account that we actively monitor and respond to. 3. We have an Instagram page that is rapidly growing in followers and we have been ramping up our activity on. 4. We have a public meeting quarterly where residents can either ask questions live online and/or in person or if they are unable to attend, can send us questions ahead of time.
