Since it is my house that some anonymous person complained about, i would like to know what the rule is for where we can put signs in our yard and be left alone by complainers. i have no extension and there is no sidewalk. What is the “rule”? Thank you
Yes, what you want is section 5:506 of the City ordinances. The short answer is political signs must be 15 feet from the street and 5 feet back from the sidewalk. Since you don't have a sidewalk, 15 feet from the street is the relevant rule. There's a little more verbiage in the ordinances, but that's the gist.
It has been determined, by a Community Standard's Officer, signs on Sunset are located on private property and do not present a code violation. The Officer used a GIS map of the area which depicted the public right-of-way to make this determination. The sign complaints will be closed.
Your request has been acknowledged and/or addressed to the best of staff's ability. A more detailed description of action taken by staff, if available, is provided in the comments above. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
