Opis

Once, JUST ONCE, I want to be able to take my children to this park without having to see the wretched raggies smoking, drinking, yelling obscenities and befriending other raggies there. It's such a shame because it is a nice park but these people have made it their spring/summer sharehold. Disgusting.

I share your feelings about Coe Park, what happened to the loitering laws??? Used to be you could not go there and just stay all day. It is a disgrace to see people passed out on the various monuments--explain that to your children. If you want to revitalize downtown you need to get the atmosphere down there cleaned up. People who come from out of town ask why we live here. Impressions are important to people who drive through or visit. Tolerance can only go so far, if they are causing a disturbance they should be asked to leave. Aren't there laws, public drinking?--obscene behavior?--Loitering?---Civil disobedience??, I always thought so

So true. I was in the Bank of America and witnessed one peeing on a tree right outside the window. How come the police don't have more of a presence there?

The police did have a strong presence there towards the end of summer, everyday. I guess they don't care this year!

Agreed 100%. Friends who come visit my family ask why there are so many "subhumans" in Torrington. Unfortunately, these people have become what makes up our city's reputation to outsiders.

In the 70 's We sat in circles of 20 or more . WE sang song's Drank, smoked , hugged, yelled ,and laughed. And we had some real Screw balls too. But who complained??

I lived in Torrington all my Life. This is a old Mill Town .If you come here to prosper its the wrong place. .We have a lot of package stores & bars The only thing that seem to survived after the Industry left. Filling the Park with Flowers ain't going to help change the people who live here ....Like it or not they are your bother & sisters ..Torrington is in a Bad place right now

Sub-humans? I had no idea that T-town harbored CHUD monsters. Torrington is and always will be a $hithole with the crooked cops and politicians that play the game here. Get used to it. Thanks Mr. Bingham for the mill rate of 40 as well as elected officials with their heads up their a$$es.

Last I checked the new Torrington mill rate was 34.46.....far from 40.

I pay 3,500.00 a year in Real Estate taxes for a small condo.
Pretty soon I will be sleeping in the park...
