This is a simple fix. Work with the traffic guards to allow people to turn left out of Mt. Gap school and problem solved.... Paint a stop bar just before the school exit on Mt. Gap and have the traffic guard stop people to allow left turns.

Rmszp we have BEGGED for that for years. I’ve been told the crossing guard cannot see the traffic to the west. Your words to the city’s ears. Thanks.

Now that I think about it, it would actually require a third traffic guard.

Also, last I checked they stop both east and west bound traffic.

It seems the police department has listened. There was a police officer sitting at the fire department this morning and someone did one of those U-turns and he pulled them over.

Worse today than EVER! I contacted the south precinct 2/4/19 but have heard nothing.

See the above comment. I literally watched someone do u-turn and get pulled over. The cop was just talking to her then she argued with him and he gave her a ticket. It’s going to take time for people to get the idea.

Rmszp where did the illegal turnaround happen? In the Mountain Gap Chaney Thompson intersection or at Wynsom and Chaney Thompson. It’s worse in the afternoons and like I said, ZERO police presence and they did not contact me after I left a message Monday.

They need to watch at Mountain Gap and Springview Dr. where the parents sit and wait for their kids to come up the sidewalk. The problem is, parents make that famous U-turn at Royce Circle one behind the other sometimes, to go wait at the stop sign. We'll if your lucky enough to be able to turn onto Springview Dr. coming east on Mt. Gap, you just hope you don't hit someone or a child. Someone need to do something about these pickup locations for these poor kids. I live in the neighborhood, don't have kids, but it scares me each and everyday I see this happening.

Please do not close this issues until they have been addressed. I called south precinct Monday and still have not heard from anyone.
