Sharraxaadda

A big yellow truck (PA: ZBK-7534) parks continuously (usually for days at a time without moving) in the 2400 block of Pennsylvania Ave, on the Fairmount Park side of the street. Signage on this street prohibits truck parking from 6 pm to 6 am. Strangely enough, the truck has a Zone 6 parking permit -- which most likely was never intended for a vehicle of this type. Nevertheless, since zone permit parking is subject to all parking restrictions other than time limits and meters, it seems clear that "No truck parking" includes this truck. The local PPA officer told me that enforcement of truck restrictions is a matter for the police and that PPA is powerless to do anything about it. The truck is not only unsightly but it partially blocks the bicycle lane and also creates a hazard to vehicles parked near it because they cannot see oncoming traffic as they back out of the (diagonally-arranged) parking spaces along the street.
