The Nuisance Alligator Hotline received a call from Mary Burris (727-798-2435)

Ms. Burris was in the area of Coffee Pot Boat Ramp and was concerned for the safety of people and pets in the area due to the presence of an alligator approx. 8ft., in the Coffee Pot Bayou at the boat launch.

When a call is received via the Hotline from an individual who cannot grant the trapper the proper access to the property, we make every effort to let the managing authority of this area be aware of the complaint.

You may have staff that monitor these areas and are aware of the alligators that are residents there and are comfortable with their presence.

Additionally, we stand ready to assist with the dispatch of a nuisance alligator trapper should you decide that you have an alligator that you wish to have removed; however, that decision is entirely yours.

Be aware that if a permit is issued and a trapper dispatched, any alligator that is 4ft or larger is harvested, which means it is killed.
