Description

Good afternoon. Let me start this off by saying that I respect and commend the work of all EMS people that risk their lives every day while responding to all kinds of emergencies. They are good people and deserve the continual support of our community.

That being said, I sometimes wonder if certain ambulance drivers are using their sirens too regularly and for too long while in route to an emergency via main street. For example today between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. in the morning, 2 or three ambulances went by blaring their sirens, sometimes for 1-2 minutes at a time when the streets were almost entirely abandoned. I understand that expedience and public safety do often outweigh the rignt right of a community to enjoy an unperturbed neighborhood and restful sleep but every once in a while, they take it too far. If the streets are nearly abandoned, how can you justify continually blasting your sirens? There has to be a better balance.
