Description

The 11th St. overpass desperately needs speed humps to control speed. This stretch of road sees constant reckless driving throughout the day and night from drivers who know that the area is not being monitored by traffic enforcement. My apartment looks down onto the roadway from where I observe drag racing and astonishing disregard for safety from drivers doing 3 - 4 times the posted speed limit of 25 mph. Last night I observed the same three vehicles return to the roadway 5 or 6 times to use it for drag racing.

Aside from the obvious risk to public safety the excessive speeding also creates a great deal of noise from drivers revving their engines to obtain high speeds over a short distance.

A few speed humps are an effective low cost solution to bring this situation under control.
