South Central is aware of the homeless and debris on all streets under the 45 Pierce elevated. We are actually doing a clean up tomorrow by the Fiesta on San Jacinto St. under 59, Blodgett St and Main under 59, and Garrett St by spur 527.

Will you do anything to clean up debris under I-45 after you do things under 59?

The areas under 45 are cleaned every Monday at 1 pm. from Louisiana all the way to Hamilton.

Keith is correct, Every Monday Downtown Management District cleans under 45 starting at Smith St all the way down to Hamilton St. We have actually had pressure washing operations along all the sidewalks under 45. I've been working with HPD DRT South Central Division and with their help getting the folks off the sidewalks so that we can pressure wash it. We will have this done monthly. Thanks,

then how is the same pile of ice chests are blocking the sidewalk week after week?????

This issue isn't about a specific piece of trash being picked up. It's about the ongoing issue that there is always trash. Cleaning once, or even once a week, is nice, but doesn't solve the ongoing problem. Shelters? Public restrooms and more trash cans in the right places? Patrolling? Something.

Keith stands correct. DMD does clean on Mondays. Our FST crew also collects trash in the right of way curb to sidewalks DAILY in and around that area, ( the guys in the lime green shirts driving the golf carts ) , and as you know its gets trashed immediately there after, but they have to move on and continue collecting trash throughout the district. The same piles of ice chest, etc are those peoples belongings. I dont know what else i can tell you, but we are doing the best we can with what we have.

We appreciate everything you are doing, it's just a shame that we have a Mayor that doesn't give a flip what this city looks like, or listens to the TAX paying citizens. Very, very sad. Can't wait for November, time to clean house of all the rodents.
