Description
1600 - 1800 31st Ave N,
I would like to request some speed bumps to be placed on 31st Ave N between 1600-1800 block. Cars are speeding dangerously in that area endangering residents, pedestrians and cars parking on the street. Also cars are trying to avoid the traffic light on 16th St N And 30th Ave N causing a lot of traffic. Can you please review this request? If a petition is needed the majority of the neighbors are on board.

Transportation Department staff have completed 24-hour speed and volume studies in this 25 MPH speed zone, and the results are as follows:
• E/B = 122 vehicles; average operating speed = 30.88 MPH
• W/B = 170 vehicles; average operating speed = 28.60 MPH
Based on our requirements, this location does not qualify with threshold speeds in excess of 35 MPH. This data does not indicate severe or recurring speeding or exceptionally high vehicle volume for conditions. I trust this has helped to illustrate conditions along the corridor, but please contact me should you have any questions and thank you again for your concern with traffic safety in your neighborhood.
