Description
When turning left from University Heights onto Main st, I noticed something that seems inefficient:
if a pedestrian had has pressed the button for right of way on the EAST side crossing on this intersection, when the light changes, that crosswalk gets a walk sign, while the WEST side crosswalk does not. This makes sense if there's no one crossing on the WEST side.
What does NOT make sense to me, is that even when the WEST side crosswalk says 'do not walk' cars still have to wait to turn left (WEST) when only the EAST crosswalk is giving right of way to pedestrians. We already have a green left arrow featured on this street light. Is there a reason why cars can't turn left when only the right turn is blocked by pedestrian right of way?
