Description
at the intersection of Park st and Campbell ave, (mikes apizza) people are parking in fron of the laundry mat all the time and it is very hard to see oncoming traffic while trying to pull out, and also people near fire hydrant... police were called, never came.

Many surrounding towns have bike sharrows, more signage for cyclists and pedestrians, and an overall greater effort to promote safe streets not just for cars, but for walkers and cyclists. Slowing down traffic with stop signs near heavy business areas like this one is not only good for the pedestrians walking and cycling, but also for the business.

More people after midnight. There are no businesses that cater to families. Our "Main Street" is flooded with booze and fights. The streets are a mess and Campell ave from Park St. to Capt. Thomas smells like malt and @#$%. If I could sell my house without losing money I will be leaving this part of town within two years. I've lived on park street for 40 years. Looking at what the Savin Rock parkade and businesses all down lower Campell Ave weren25 years ago to what it is now Is a tell tale sign of where it's going and the collective concern about what it can be make me what to flee. If we stayed and put our money in those older family run stores they might still be around. We have our bars and restaurants. I've worked at a few of them. We need them. We don't need more. No more dollar stores. No more nail salons. No more tattoo and cigarette stores. Where's the coffee shop. Where's the book store. Where's the arcade and mini golf. Where is the carousel and other shoreline entertainment that can be classy like cape cod or like many CT shoreline communities. Stop this high em development that promises to make our town better and start focusing on redeveloping our neighborhood centers. Start at the Savin Rock Parkade. It exists. It's there. We can make it better. We don't need a post road big box store to make our neighborhoods better. Think small neighborhood changes. Let's clean up our collective act.
