This traffic signal uses video detection. The video cameras detect vehicles entering virtual detection zones within their view. When vehicles enter the detection zone, the video system places a call into the controller to give that phase a green light. Unfortunately, during the snow storm, the camera that detects vehicles for phase 4 and 7 (66th EB through lanes and left turn lane to NB Valley View) lost power. The wire has failed somewhere within the conduit system. Initial troubleshooting took place shortly after the snow storm. Without a video feed, the system places a max call (max time) to both zones to make sure vehicles do not get stuck in those zones. This gives the green arrow for NB Valley View even if there are no vehicles in the turn lane. Vehicles traveling WB on 66th do not get a green light until the left turn lane to go NB on Valley View has timed out. I have scheduled a city electrician to repair the issue Monday 4/15.

The faulty wire was located and replaced this morning. The signal intersection is detecting vehicles properly.
