Description

As we get to the main construction / maintenance season it would be great if you could give some reminders to all who work under the city umbrella, since everyone of these things has needlessly been an issue in the recent past:

* Cautionary signs should be placed in the verge, not obstructing the sidewalk or bike lanes.

* Sidewalk detour signage needs to be placed at the nearest crosswalk, not mid-block forcing backtracking or jaywalking.

* Drainage gates should be essentially at grade. If there is some insurmountable reason they must be significantly below grade they need to be ramped on all sides. Vertical lips are crash hazards for people riding bikes.

* Striping for general purpose lanes should be measured from the center line not the curb.

* Sharrows should be centered in the effective lane, not the door zone.
