What's the progress on this?

“Speeding is a traffic violation and should be addressed by police enforcement. Please contact Howard County Police Department at (410) 313-2929. The requested crosswalk at the playground is not warranted at this time as there is another painted crosswalk approximately 900ft east of Pembrook Woods to cross Old Scaggsville Rd. “

Hi Lashonda, dont expect any help. I tried fighting with the hoco chief of police, the head of the DPW department, a made another post on here with the similar issue, I emailed our councilman, and N engineer worker for the city. Guess what? No one cares because its not their neighborhood. They refuse to acknowledge the problem and take any action. They dismiss the claims and come out with all the excuses in the book. You can't count on them for help. But rest assured I have saved every single email and screenshot every single listing on here. I'm waiting for the day some poor person gets struck and killed. Then I will provide them with all my documentation and help them sue the county for all they're worth. No one listens until it's too late.

What does that crosswalk have to do with a crosswalk at this playground where kids have to cross street to get to the playground. If a crosswalk was in placed it would at least slow vehicles down when they see someone standing at the crosswalk. The other night I was walking my dog and was about to cross the street in the same place and a car came speeding from Windermere II and almost hit cars that they were along street because they almost lost control of their vehicle. Also another vehicle was very impatient because another vehicle was traveling at slow speed and that vehicle shot around the vehicle at the crosswalk that is located at the other playground on old scaggsville. Back in 2014. A driver came speeding in the community and loss control of his vehicle and damage vehicles parked at this same area which I witnessed. Something needs to be done because as Laura stated it shouldn’t take someone getting hit or life loss for the county to do anything about the speeding in this community.
