We we're informed by Waste Management's route manager that they could not finish the Lafayette Street area due to an unexpected, heavy volume of yard waste. They will be back Monday morning at 7am and apologize for the inconvenience. There was more yard waste out than expected for the first pick up week of 2019. We will discuss adding more trucks for the next yard waste pick up week in June with Waste Management's customer service team to avoid these issues in the future. The Salem Transfer Station on Swampscott Road is open on Saturdays 7:00a.m. to 3:00p.m and Sundays 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.
