Don't be so sure that the grooming apparatus really removes all those things -- in many cases, it simply churns it deeper into the sand. And as far as liability goes, sidewalks are a public area, also, a place where people of all sorts depend on unimpeded access, including the disabled, people pushing strollers, people with children, etc. By forcing people into the streets, when the sidewalks are inaccessible, there's liability there, too.

That machine...called the beachcomer is a menace. It does churn dirt and debris deeper under the sand. Some one commented "what are a few footprints in the sand?" Debris is getting worse. Somebody should monitor the culprits and then maybe the man running the beach combing machine can take care of Blohm and other neglected areas around the beach.The police need to be giving out tickets to so-called "fisherman" there every night...making noise, eating, drinking and leaving all their leftovers (half dead fish, bait, hooks, bottles,food wrappers, cigarrette butts, etc. behind.
