Description
The work has been going on on Princess Place from Market St. to Barclay, for over 4 months. The workers for the Water Authority don't get there until a round 9,take a break at 10:30,then break for lunch around Noon taking another break about 3 and knocking off about 5. They don't work weekends, and the Labor Day Weekend they had a 4 day break. The Crew for the Water Authority on an average day consist of 3 Hispanics in the ditch, 2 guys running the heavy equipment(if it is in use) and occasionally a supervisor sitting in the air conditioned cab of his truck.
The only time there are more than 5 workers out there is when the have sub-contractors doing the concrete work, paving, etc. And they get their jobs done in a matter of days.
Transit Buses have had to be re-routed,with riders missing connections, traffic also with whole sections of Princess Place unreachable.
If this had been in
forest Hills or Landfall the job wouldn't have taken more than a week. But,because of the neighborhood stigma the residents have had to deal with this for months with no clear end in sight
