Description

The intersection at Grand Street and Van Vorst Street is incredibly dangerous for pedestrians. There is a crosswalk and a big sign that says "state law, stop for pedestrians," but cars speed and do not stop, even if pedestrians are halfway across the street. There is a crossing guard on weekday mornings but all other times, especially night, it is scary to cross the street. My husband recently saw a woman hit by car at this corner. Once, the sign informing drivers of the state law was run over. I think a stop sign would be beneficial, or a police officer stationed at the corner to ticket drivers.
