This actually is the first lodged complaint I have heard of regarding the hall rental. I will personally stop by and see both the Principal and Hall Manager no later than Tuesday and speak to them directly.

This is the first 311 complaint but I know multiple neighbors here have called HPD every weekend for the past few years almost including last weekend. HPD was there on 5/11 at 11 pm for the same thing twice. Yesterday HPD responded at 11:15 pm and the windows to the hall were wide open the entire time with the DJ playing. HPD had them close the windows and then once they left they re-opened them and played music till 12am then it stopped. This is every weekend now, more on Saturday’s but can be Friday, Saturday & Sunday. One neighbor here has video footage of the windows wide open and music going. The church needs to be more mindful of the fact this is a on-going business in a residential zone and the music can be heard regardless of noise ordinance hours now in violation of the noise pollution ordinance. They need sound proof window and until they can do that then they need to rent for parties not have a DJ this is ridiculous. Winter Fest music with the windows closed for the entire weekend. People will get upset about this report but they do not endure the evening and weekend thumps Of loud music at their own home and I’m sure they would not like this as well. Thank you LT for your service and hopefully this coming weekend is not the same issue or any evening, weekend or event going forward.

Also 3 neighbors stated they have tried to speak with the community affairs officer about other recent events this past week 5-13-2019 thru 5-17-2019 (left voicemails) and our block is having a small meeting so everyone is on the same page about the outcome IF a return call was made to residents. This has been an ongoing issue and now residents will stop calling and start reporting to 311 for lodged complaints on record. Thank you sir .....

There was a tele report made I believe Thursday around noon after a message was left for the community affairs officer for the 1st district , I was sitting there during the report call as well as another neighbor just in case they needed to speak with people. I’m sure you can pull the report up.

I personally spoke to the school’s principal today. He is very receptive to helping the residents with issues that might arise. He also is going to bring in his hall manager/caterer, to set some guidelines/standards regarding noise levels, ventilation, as well as are off-duty officers being employed when required. Scott (St. John’s Principal) has always taken the time to hear our complaints from the neighbors. If a meeting is warranted, he went on to state he would possibly be willing to host, to hear how, together, we can better help each other.
