Transportation Department staff have reviewed conditions at this location and verified that they are similar to other alley locations throughout the downtown. There isn't any available room to place a stop sign prior to the sidewalk and a speed hump wont help to address the State Statute requirement of motorists to stop before crossing a sidewalk. Additional engineering will not increase motorists compliance of the driving rules and additional education or enforcement would not prove practical in this situation. At this time there are no additional practical measures available to help address your concern.

wel that’s rather unfortunate to learn because as one whose office window looks out onto the sidewalk i see countless pedestrians & cyclists pass without a clue that a car or truck could emerge from side of building.
