Water has been leaking 24 hours a day down Tasman all the way around the corner and into the gutters.... I have spoke to the city and all they can tell me is they are unable to cap it... I wrote a letter to mercury news and even called the state and no one seems to care... Millions and millions of gallons wasted can someone do something?

There is an artesian well, which is bringing water from deep underground to the surface at Tasman Drive between Birchwood and Reamwood. The water flow is likely due to overcharging of the aquifer from the recent rains and possibility of a failure of an abandoned well, which is providing a route for the subsurface water access to the surface. There are no drinking water pipe breaks involved.
Repairs will be complex and will involve extensive excavation and specialized work. The City will be making repairs over the next few weeks, which will include the closure of Tasman Drive in the westbound direction, during those repairs.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact Jim Burch, Superintendent of Public Works Operations, 408-730-7558 or jburch@sunnyvale.ca.gov.
