City Hall – DR assigned this issue to Traffic - KC (Permits)

I know when I needed to do this for a moving van a bunch of years ago, I had to register my plans at City Hall and the city set up the orange barrel-shaped space savers/signage for me on the specified day. I don't remember if I had to pay anything, but my situation was residential, not commercial. I'll bet if you go to the city page you'll be able to see the requirements (if you want to know; I realize you just want those contractors to know, & to follow the laws!). Many commercial businesses don't comply in any way with these laws. I think with contractors it might be in part bc they have to frequently rearrange their calendars so they can continue to work through changes in weather.

Permits are required to reserve parking spaces. Please call in to the Cambridge Police Dept business line at 617-349-3300 when spaces are blocked with objects.
