I attended the get acquainted meeting with our new police chief this past week. These types of police department non-responses were brought up. Chief Armstrong informed us that FPD does not currently even have a Police Captain. Linda Lipka, Ward 1 council rep also informed us See Click Fix was originally set up to get messages to Public Works, ONLY. Any police issues need to be called in directly to the police department.

Historically, derelict vehicles have been a public works issue. Because the police were also issuing citations, at some point public works was told not to handle them. Reality is, SeeClickFix is a great way for tracking issues and progress (or lack thereof). For non-emergency quality of life issues, rather than calling in and taking the time of a dispatcher who needs to be focusing on REAL police issues, it would be better if somebody at the police department would respond to these.
