This drug dealing is STILL going on. I have spoken to Det. Leroc 8-9 months ago but no action has been taken. They are not returning my phone calls at this point.
77-79 fourth st is still very active as well as 85 fourth st. right next door. The police have been supplied with all the necessary info for an investigation, however to my knowledge have not acted. What is it going to take another murder for anyone to do something?
Narcotics Unit direct number is 203-946-6098. You don't need to give them your name. Observe as many details as you can: license plate numbers, approx. age of individuals, descriptions. It also would be helpful if you could tell exactly in which apt. at 77-79 the activity is taking place. Binoculars are very helpful. The more information you can give to the police, the easier it is for them to do their job. When observing, BE SURE LIGHTS IN YOUR APARTMENT ARE OFF. That way, you can see them, but they can't see you. Be very discreet about pulling back your curtains or shades so they can't tell you're watching. With some patient detective work of your own, you have the power to clean up you street!!!
Why is it I can sit on my porch and watch people rolling blunts and smoking them in there cars in front of these addresses and nobody is doing anything about it. I have to pick up empty dime bags in front of my house every morning because my kids keep asking what they are. Lets go NHPD I know you're busy and I can appreciate that, but enough is enough
YOU PEOPLE ARE NUTS...WORRIED ABOUT THE DRUG DEALERS...THE POLICE HAVE BETTER THINGS TO WORRY LIKE THE 12 HOMICIDES THAT ARE NOT SOLVED YET...IM PRETTY SURE THE GRIEVING FAMILIES ARE HURTING MORE THAN YOU GUYS...THIS IS NEW HAVEN THERE IS DRUG DEALING EVERYWHERE IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE AROUND IT MOVE TO HAMDEN BRANFORD NORTH HAVEN....HOW ABOUT YOU MOVE TO WHERE THERE ARE SHOOT OUTS EVERYDAY LIKE ON FRANK ST OR DIXWELL....MIND YOU OWN BUSINESS..THE COPS ARE GETTING PAID TO BE COPS...AND YOUR NOT..I BET THAT IF YOU WERENT SITTIN ON YOUR PORCH EVERYDAY OR PEEKING OUT THE CURTAINS YOU WOULD NEVER KNO WHATS GOING ON...BUT IF THEY WERE SHOOTING ON A DAILY BASIS WOULD YOU BE THIS OPEN TO SNITCHING????
Your attitude is exactly why things don't change in New Haven, because you except this as ok. well last time I check drugs are illegal and if the police would get the drug problem under control the homicide rate would also drop, they do go hand in hand. So just sit on couch with your blinders on anonymous and let the people who care about there city and there families take care of it.
I just left a message at narcotics unit's direct number (see above) but if "outraged" could call and leave a more detailed description [or better, call when someone answers]: time of operation, license plate numbers, detailed description of dealers, etc. It's not acceptable that this has been going on for at least a year, and residents shouldn't be forced to tolerate it.
Regarding the above-mentioned raid recently at 307 Greenwich: the police also recovered a large cache of guns during that raid--just around the corner from Fourth St. Statistically the vast majority of homicides in New Haven are drug-related. I hope "Outraged" has called the above-mentioned Narcotics direct number to provide more details about what she/he is observing.
Just as an aside, if the government would legalize "recreational" drugs, & sell them from government-run dispensaries, gangs no longer would have the monopoly & the violence would end. But until "Prohibition" is repealed, residents must aggressively do what they can to keep the dealers--and their guns and un-neighborly behavior--out of our neighborhood.
Lt. John Vilecka [spelling?] is the person to talk to. He's at the phone number posted above.
It's up to US to improve OUR neighborhood: not the mayor, not the aldermen, not the police alone. It's up to ALL of us.
I got a question FOR any one thats got anything to do with the P/D department. All thesenames,Ids,locations, peoples names,And so on yet no one has been arrested?
The tenants at 77 4th street have changed at least 3 times since this complaint was reported. Whoever was being observed selling drugs is no longer at that address.
