I agree with C. The main cross-town traffic streets in The Mission are Guerrero, S. Van Ness, and Potrero. They should be kept as timed express streets for auto traffic. I ride my bike on most errands, so I appreciate the Valencia St. coridor for cyclists.

We have to be realistic because you can't eliminate cars altogether no matter how bad they are for pedestrians. You've got to leave some way for cars to get around with ease, or they will crowd other streets and make life even MORE miserable for the rest of us.

Cars passing through with ease doesn't mean racing down South Van Ness Ave. which happens quite often, esp. during the morning and evening commute. If the speed limit was 35mph and was actually followed, that would be fine. There should be some middle ground between having South Van Ness as an express through-way and a slow street.

Nothing was done to address this significant safety problem, and therefore I will start over.
