At 6:35 p.m. Monday, a police car (don't know if it was state or local) was PARKED on the side of the road near the red light on Cedar Lane in New Hartford. The cruiser had all of its lights OFF. I pulled along side to make a RIGHT turn. When the light changed, the cruiser zoomed out and took a LEFT turn IN FRONT OF ME presumably to catch someone who ran the light. Close call. I think if we hit each other, he would have been the worse for wear. An unsafe practice to stop an unsafe practice.
