They don't seem to care, like at all. A few months ago they were responding that they were looking at lane width or something of that sort. I guess they think it is all county residents that are complaining. I own a business in the city and I pay for a operator's licence, we shop in the city and we should have a voice. I guess if we all start calling the mayor and the city council person for that district, they might listen. And the construction excuse is lame because most of the heavy trucks/equipment are using the Bob Wade side.

I would like to invite the Engineers and our Mayor to take a ride down this road doing the speed limit and see what we are all complaining about. Seriously...something needs to be done before someone is in a bad accident. I have seen where trucks (like small delivery trucks) are having issues even.
I would rather have a paved road than attend a funeral of a friend or family member.

There is NO excuse for their lack of action at this point.

It was suggested on a similar post to this issue that we call Mr. Michael Hallman who is the senior right of way inspector. I called him and he said that the construction is a subdivision that is going at Beaver Dam and Facebook. He did however, encourage everyone to call his office 256.883.3984, the Mayor's office or Devon Keith. Mr Hallman said he travels this road daily, IDK. I got the impression that numerous phone calls is what will get this addressed because the city is not going to budge at this point.

I got the call from some guy with the city. He said that it was safer now then fixing road because if the driver knows the road is a mess, we will be more careful. If they fix the road, then with all the construction and the road is damaged again, the driver wouldn't know the road was messed up. TRUE STORY he said that..Really

And now you know why they aren't fixing it... they have no sense.

That's ridiculous! The gentleman I spoke to claimed he drove this road everyday but the city will not budge on even repairing that really bad stretch, even a temporary fix. He did not directly tell me to do this but implied that phones ringing might get some results. His supervisor is a Mr. McNeese, he is on my list for Monday. I told him I plan on calling someone every business day until this is fixed.
