Description
Would it be possible to add a crosswalk sign and lights to this intersection? I was almost hit by a car while crossing from the corner of Elm St (by the dentist) to the corner of Highland (by the park). The car was turning into Elm St. and did not stop for the crosswalk. I had to jump back to avoid getting hit. Then when crossing from the corner of Highland (by the park) to Harris Delta, most cars did not stop for the crosswalk. The one that did honked and swore at me out their window because they did not want to slow down.
This intersection is very unsafe and drivers to not stop for the crosswalks. As a tax-paying member of the Malden community, I ask that something be done about this before someone is seriously injured or killed

You don’t have to be a tax paying member of the malden community to safely walk the city but I’m sure the treasurers office appreciates your support.
We will have the traffic officers take a look at the crosswalk locations that you described.
Regarding the signs and lights, I believe the DPW handles those requests. Funding the signal lights is something that requires some advanced planning. I’ll forward this to the DPW for their review
