Description
Currently, the left side of the house from the view of the street has a cul-de-sac style drive way in relation to the sidewalk. There seems to be an ongoing issue in which people park at this small sidewalk, causing the back portion of their vehicle to stick into my driveway at times. It seems common courtesy is not as common as I thought. As such, I am requesting the city paint a red curb on the circled portion of the attached image, so as to discourage this dangerous and illegal practice of parking a vehicle in such a haphazard manner. Not only do these vehicles intrude upon my property, they also can cause blind spots when reversing, and there are multiple young children in this neighborhood who play outside, and this is an accident waiting to happen. These parked vehicles cause blind spots when reversing. Please consider this request, and not simply archive it. Thank you very much.

Doesn't make much sense unless someone is telling them not to enforce code or they just don't know what code is. Kind of like these not being enforced.

Call the Chief and demand that there are patrols in your neighborhood and demand that the code and your property rights are enforced. It really is starting to see that some on city staff have no desire to protect peoples property rights or even patrol neighborhoods to enforce codes but have no problem getting a paycheck. Hopefully since Chief Thompson is coming back he will follow up on some of the "Take a knee" attitudes that have prevailed as of late.
There is suppose to be patrols in EVERY area but hardly ever see anyone come by let alone enforce actual code protecting our property rights.. Wonder how much the city is losing in revenue!!
Guess they don't realize the lawsuits that will happen when there is a confrontation due the the lack of traffic enforcement.

The City Engineer/Public Works Director has determined that this request does not meet the criteria for a red curb. A similar request for red curbs went before City Council on 10/22/19 and was denied. Please call Enforcement at 707-678-7080 if this issue continues.
Unfortunately when the city reviews situations like this, they have to view through multiple lenses... I.e. law, precedence, operations/maint, budget, etc. It has been determined by the City Engineer, in collaboration with the Police Chief, that education through enforcement is the best course of action in this case.
