Are you a man? Are your cousins men? Then you didn’t fit the criteria for the current use of the gym. It’s not discrimination. And also, it isn’t free just like toddler play time isn’t free. You do have to pay or leave, just like anything else that costs money. Perhaps go during women’s open gym. Something tells me it wasn’t Janice who made the scene if you’re throwing a fit about not being allowed to go play basketball when the gym was being used for men’s recreation.

OMG what a joke, like the other person wrote the rec center here is not free, you have pay!!! Why are you trying to get someone in trouble for doing their job Shame on you!!!! Go ahead and block me too if you want everybody can see what I wrote. Grow up misses SMH!!!

Looking into what happened during Open Gym last night, I was told that you wanted to play, but your two friends wanted to hang-out and watch. Janiese stated the cost for playing Open Gym to you and let you know you could participate, but since there is a "No Spectator Policy" during Open Gym, your friends were not allowed to enter. We have had too many issues with spectators during Open Gym, which is why there is a "No Spectator Policy". Not sure where the discrimination took place. If something else happened besides this report, please call the Rec. Center at 586-445-5480.

@Tony she stormed into the gym as if i caused an issue. She was very loud and told us you have to leave this is a men’s only open your not allowed in here asked if i was a Roseville/ Eastpointe resident. I asked her numerous of times how much was it and she said idk you have to go up to the front desk to pay which I’m pretty sure she collects the payments for the rec at the desk! My cousins didn’t have an issue with leaving because they’re not athletes that’s not my issue. She was very loud and rude which caused everybody to stop playing basketball like i caused an issue which is very embarrassing. And another thing she basically made it known that it was men only open gym meaning i wasn’t allowed to play. Which in my years of being a female athlete that played in numerous of men tournaments and scrimmages all throughout Michigan and other states from middle school to college never have I’ve been turned away from hooping in a men’s open gym at any rec. if there’s a number i can call you directly or someone who’s over the recreation center that understand my side of this issue can you please post it thank you
