Buckingham is a race track for those avoiding the traffic light!

I attended a meeting with Mayor Reichert and Nigel Floyd along with members of Vine Ingle with Susan Cable moderating the meeting. When I showed pictures of Clisby during school time, the mayor directed Mr Floyd to make the speed limit on Clisby 25mph instead of 30. That has not happened yet. Mr Gowin with the Bibb Board of Ed.was suppose to be at the meeting but was not there. This meeting was back in the fall before Christmas.
Something has got to be done about the speed on this street and the car pool line in the afternoon that creates a major traffic issue.

No update from the city yet. With the current disruption in our lives there is more foot traffic on Clisby Pl, making the situation even more dangerous. I believe many Clisby residents would volunteer to team with the city to make this happen.

I live on Clisby and I would definitely volunteer to help fix the traffic problem on the street!

With Pio Nono closed near the old Kroger, traffic on Clisby Place has reached absurd levels with correspondingly absurd behavior. People hopping curbs, accellerating and braking at maximum speeds to catch a light, or passing people who themselves are already speeding.

Going back to my previous post. I met with several residents from Ingleside and Vineville back in the fall. I went with pictures of Clisby when Vineville Academy is dismissed. I pointed out how Clisby goes from 2 lanes to 4. Lanes 1 the carpool lane that wraps arouund the corner at Vineville. Lane 2 cars going southwest towards the underpass. Lane 3 Cars going in a northeast direction towards Vineville.
Lane 4 cars parked on the curb in front of homes that have no driveway.
I pointed out that we have 5 schools surrounding. Clisby Pl: Miller Middle, Central,, Vineville Academy, L.H. Williams and St Peter Claver.
They were dumbfounded. They had no idea. A second meeting was to be scheduled but to date that hasnt happened..
We need to ask some questions: Why is this problem being swept under the rug?

The traffic is dangerous and too high volume for our little street.

I recently purchased a 3 unit property at 290 Clisby Place and it is a hazard trying to get out of the driveway we share with our neighbors. The speed that people come down the hill before the trestle has to be as high as 60 mph. If we cant have speed bumps we need Police presence continually. It will prevent me from investing in the area again.

Now we have people speeding through the alleys. How dangerous does it have to get?

I saw this 4 wheeler bike myself. There have been several doing wheelies through all of the traffic and then some have found out that we have access allies on both sides of Clisby. They go through allies to avoid the traffic light at Clisby and Vineville.

I had a lady go up on the side walk to drive around me and blare her horn at me when I was trying to pull into my drive. I had to wait on 15 cars to pass to make a left into my yard at 8am yesterday.

So the problem as I see it is that there is no direction. No detour signs. They just let motorists figure it out. They should detour down Napier to Holt. Both of these road are paved and wide enough to support all this traffic.

A Week ago a car came around the corner onto Clisby going so fast it jumped the curb at Clisby and Vineville
This is a street used by pedestrians. If someone had been walking there they would have been killed.
I am saying this again, I was in a meeting last October with Mayor Richert, Mr Floyd and others and the suggestion was made to make it a priority to make Clisby 25mph. That was made by the mayor.
Has yet to happen.
