As a local resident, I don't agree with this to happen alone - this can only happen if the condo/rental buildings in the area reduce the price for monthly parking as it forces people to park on the streets. There are not enough parking spaces for people so they are forced to park anywhere they can. EG: there are some luxury rental buildings on Van Vorst St which charge $250+/month for parking and they are half-empty as no one wants to pay this much. If you want to reduce street parking, YOU HAVE TO ask those buildings to reduce the parking costs to something reasonable such as $100-150/month max. ONE CAN NOT HAPPEN WITHOUT THE OTHER.

Do NOT take away any more parking spaces - it is difficult enough to find parking in Paulus Hook.

Agreed - the solution is not to take parking spaces away - the solution is to work with all the luxury rentals and condos to offer parking spaces at reasonable rates, rather than charge $250-$300/month and have just 40% occupancy.
